Is your hair dry, split ends, or too weak?

He could be in need of the deep care of a hair schedule (or capillary schedule )!

Understand what it is, when and how to do it, in this Piellem post!

What is a capillary schedule?

Capillary schedule is a set of interspersed application of products, made with their own periodicity to hydrate, nourish and rebuild the health of the hair.

This care can be carried out at home or in your favorite salon, using masks, oils and butters intended for the needs of your strands and stage of the capillary schedule.

It is performed every 48 hours at a minimum and usually over a period of 4 weeks.

Why make a capillary schedule?

Various factors damage the hair, such as chemical procedures, the frequent use of flat irons and dryers, pollution, the effects of the sun, sea, swimming pool, among others.

Hair that has a greater curvature or is in the process of transition tends to have greater difficulty delivering essential nutrients to the ends of the strands.

These conditions end up damaging the hair and point to the need for a capillary schedule.

However, it is also recommended that healthy hair also undergo this care process.

Where do I start my hair schedule?

The steps of the capillary schedule for you to have healthy hair are:

1. Identify your hair needs

Before starting your hair schedule, it's important to identify what your hair needs are.

Each hair is unique and you need to understand the texture, the level of damage and the type of nutrients it needs.

So, to understand if your hair needs hydration, nutrition or reconstruction, do the Porosity Test, which is a way to assess the hair's ability to absorb and retain moisture.< p>

To perform the test, just take a lock of clean, dry hair, place it in a glass of water and wait for about 5 minutes (see infographic below).

If the hair is close to the surface, it indicates that it has low porosity, that is, the cuticles are very closed, which makes it difficult to absorb moisture and nutrients. In this situation, your hair needs a capillary Hydration schedule. Possibly your hair is dull, dry and tangled.

If your hair is in the middle of the cup, you have medium porosity. Your hair is healthy and well hydrated, but frizz and split ends may be recurring. Even so, it is advisable to carry out a capillary Nutrition schedule.

If the hair immediately sinks in, it means that it has high porosity, as the cuticles are very open. The strands absorb moisture and nutrients at the same time that they are lost, without the ability to retain them. So now is the time to invest in a Reconstruction capillary schedule. With this characteristic, your hair can be weak, thin and with a lot of breakage.

2. Choose the product according to your need

Once you've identified your hair's need for hydration, nutrition, and reconstruction, you'll need to choose good products to effectively accomplish the schedule.

For hair with low porosity, or that needs hydration, look for masks with aloe vera, aloe vera, fruits and vitamins.

As for hair that has indicated normal porosity and will undergo a nutrition process, the ideal way to implement the schedule is to use masks, oils or butters such as coconut, castor, argan and avocado oils , shea butter, among others.

Finally, for hair with high porosity that will undergo the reconstruction schedule, the ideal cosmetics are those that have keratin, creatine, collagen and amino acids in their formulas.

Although your hair has specific needs, in all 3 schedules you will need at least 3 different masks to meet the demands of each stage.

Tip: if you don't want to buy products in large quantities, look for products on sale in the form of sachets!

3. Carry out the capillary schedule according to the needs of your hair

And now?

You already know what your hair's current need is and you already know which product to buy.

Find the schedule below indicated for your yarn and now it's “hands on”, I mean, hands on mask!

Start by washing your hair. Some people use pre shampoo (pre poo) so that the detergent action of the shampoo does not harm the length of the hair.

There are also those who prefer No Poo or Low Poo cosmetics, which are those that do not have petroleum derivatives in the formula, waxes or insoluble products.

In these cases, it is important that there is consistency in the execution of the entire schedule regarding the type of product chosen.

After washing, apply the masks as indicated by the manufacturers and only after the mask use your conditioner. Respect the 48h interval to move on to the next step.

For hair in need of Hydration, the main objective will be to guarantee the replacement of water in the strands. You will need to do 8 Hydrates, 3 Nutritions and 1 Rebuild.

  • Week 1: Hydration, Nutrition, Hydration

Also in this nutrition schedule, it is possible to perform a wetting procedure, which consists of applying oil to the hair and letting it act for hours or overnight, before washing it.

Finally, for hair in need of Reconstruction the function of the schedule will be to replenish the mass of the hair fiber, returning its nutrients. In this cycle you will do 6 hydrations, 4 nutritions and 2 reconstructions.

The results you will get will be soft, shiny, malleable, resistant hair, with less breakage and less hair loss.

What are the main mistakes regarding capillary schedule?

  • Do not decrease or exceed the indicated time. Always follow the product manufacturer's instructions regarding time of action.
  • Do not use the indicated quantity of products. Applying little product may not bring you the expected benefits, as well as an excess amount can have the opposite effects.
  • Not checking product ingredients. Reading the labels guarantees that you will acquire cosmetics with the correct nutrients to carry out your capillary schedule.
  • Perform the stages of your schedule every day or just once a week. The recommended time between one stage and another is 48 hours.
  • Leave product residues in the hair. Thoroughly rinsing the hair is essential so as not to make it look heavy.
  • Using hot water or electrical appliances at high temperature. Try to wash your hair at milder temperatures, as well as using a hairdryer, flat iron or curling iron. The use of a thermal protector can be a good option for drying and can protect the strands from damage caused by heat sources.
  • Missing hair in your routine. Carefully untangling your hair and balancing the times you leave your strands tied up or loose are actions that also help maintain hair health.
  • Skip timeline steps. Carrying out the capillary schedule may seem complicated, but each moment is of significant importance to restoring the health of the hair. Maintain discipline and focus.
  • Do the schedule only once. Remember that there is no miracle to always have soft and silky hair. The one-month interval for carrying out the next capillary schedule is the most appropriate. Watch your locks and schedule yourself for another 4 weeks of self-care.
